Disclaimer

In an effort to help me learn Ruby and document the things that I pick up as I continue, I will be writing posts on various aspects of the language. Since I was writing the disclaimer on all the posts, I thought that is not very DRY at all! Therefore, I decided to write this disclaimer page that I will link to in all the posts moving forward.

Currently, I am catching up with the Practicing Ruby newsletter and posting about interesting methods, concepts and questions I encounter in the process. As I move forward, I will contnue to post about interesting things that are ruby related in an effort to crystallize the ideas in my head and receive feedback from the community on correctness of my understanding, clarity of my thoughts, etc. As such, I would like to emphasize two things:

  • The posts here are part of my learning process and as such, the information presented here should be taken with a grain of salt (possibly even a bucket). While this is a great way for me to get feedback from the community and be corrected when I am wrong or unclear about something, the posts here are probably not the best resources for other’s to learn from.
  • The posts, while inspired by questions/curiosities that arise after I read the newsletter, will not contain anything from the newsletter itself. If you are looking for the benefit the newsletter provides, I would highly recommend you subscribe. It is an excellent resource in enhancing your unerstanding of different facets of Ruby and the proceeds from the newsletter go directly in helping the sustainable running of RMU. However, I do have to point out that the newsletter is going to be discontinued in the coming weeks so I suggest that you only subscribe if you are interested in receiving the back issues and/or supporting RMU. I also would like to remind you that if you wish to support RMU, there is a pledgie set up and you can help ensure that RMU continues to run sustainably by donating however much you can. Thank you for your support.

With that said, I would like to encourage people to point out any errors they notice or give general feedback. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me in the comments section. While I am not an authority in the area by any stretch of the imagination, I strongly believe in the process of learning by trying to answer questions. Therefore ask as many questions as you want so that I will be forced to learn when I try to answer them :).
